A.A.'s Responsibility Statement
I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there. And for that: I am responsible.
Getting Involved in A.A. Service
A.A.’s Twelfth Step suggests that we carry the message of recovery. That is the basic service that A.A. provides. Any action that helps A.A. to function as a whole is service. Most A.A. members start out providing service in their group.
Lincoln Intergroup
Lincoln Intergroup is how A.A. groups in Lincoln work together to support our shared recovery efforts. Districts 3, 21, 22, and 29 make up the Lincoln Intergroup, partnering to handle certain service and committee work that’s easier to do together than alone. This cooperation helps support local meetings and districts and keeps the focus on our common purpose—helping the alcoholic who still suffers.
Area 41 Nebraska
Lincoln A.A. groups are also part of Area 41 in A.A.’s General Service structure. Through our General Service Representatives (GSRs) and District Committee Members (DCMs), Lincoln groups are connected to Area 41, where group conscience is shared at area assemblies and carried forward by our area delegate. This connection helps ensure that the voice of Lincoln A.A. groups is heard in the wider Fellowship, while still respecting the autonomy of each group.
